Correlation Analysis between Rail Track Geometry and Car-Body Vibration Based on Fractal Theory

The effect of track geometry on vehicle vibration is a major concern in high-speed rail (HSR) operation from the perspectives ride comfort and safety. However, how to quantitatively characterize relation between them remains problem be solved quality assessment. By using fractal analysis, this paper studies detailed correlation surface alignment irregularities car body vertical lateral acceleration various wavelength ranges. time-frequency features irregularity car-body are first analyzed based empirical mode decomposition (EMD). Then, inspection data determined by calculating Hurst exponent their intrinsic functions (IMFs). Finally, dimensions obtained, with respect different IMFs revealed regression analysis. results show that dimension only related roughness IMF waveforms irrelevant amplitude time series data; coefficient greater than 0.7 for wavelengths 30 m, indicating relationship more obvious long wavelengths. findings research could used optimizing HSR maintenance work viewpoint trains.
